Somebody,Somewhere

May 31st, 2009

It’s official – I have brain fog. Tehya is losing what little brain power she had in the first place. Poor Tehya.

My short term memory has been completely shot to pieces. I always ,jokingly, referred to my poor short term memory as ‘baby brain’ but as it transpires to it is much more than that. It is an actual medical condition. You rock Tehya.

I also have a condition known as ‘drop foot’. Thank you Doctor.B! I had an appointment with him on Thursday to basically change my pain meds. The Naproxen that I was taking decided it no longer wanted to work with me, seeing as I have been on it for nearly nine years it was about time that it did so.
He then place me on a drug called Arthrotec75

Female patients must meet the following four requirements in order to use this drug: 1) test negative for pregnancy within 2 weeks before starting treatment; 2) use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy; 3) receive oral and written warnings on the dangers of using misoprostol while of childbearing age and the risks of possible birth control failure; 4) start taking this medication only on the second or third day of the next normal menstrual period.

Lovely.

PREGNANCY Q & A & more!

Q: Should I have a baby after 35?

A: Right after you find out you’re pregnant.

High Flyer

May 28th, 2009

When I made my first credit card application I have to admit that there was no thought put into it whatsoever. I was accosted by a canvasser when Will and myself were leaving a furniture store. We both made a seperate application for a credit card not out of need or really wanting one but to get rid of the girl. Six weeks later , a Visa card for each of us, landed on front mat. The APR was atrocious ,something like 21.9% mainly because it was our first card and  to be honest our first credit agreement bar the house mortgage.

We didn’t activate it and it wasn’t until several years later that we reapplied for a card. Of course , after actually looking into getting one this time we were a bit more savvy about APR and added card bonuses. Currently I have a MasterCard which was issued by my Bank. The bonuses with that card are limited to £1 back for every £100 spent. Big incentive to spend there :) although to be perfectly honest I really do not need any added incentive to spend money!

My sister ,Sara, actually has  one of those frequent flyer cards which work in a similar way to store reward cards. Spend a certain amount and recieve a number of reward points back, in her case for every £1 she spends she gets 1.25 in air-miles back. Last summer she ,her husband and daughter all flew to the United States for free.
I think that maybe I should look into a card that is right for me that has similar perks..I wonder if there is a card that gives you payback that can be spent in craft-stores ??
