Exsqueeze me?

January 31st, 2009

There is a family that lives just out the back from us.They live in a four bedroom property. There is a mummy and a daddy,a grandparent and nine children ranging from about 2 years to 12 years.I can’t even do the math on that-it’s mind boggling!

Anyway; The mother is a loud mouth. She yells, cusses and generally screams her head off whilst standing at the back with the ever present half smoked cigarette hanging from her guttermouth.

The father is pretty much the same -he yells and screams continually at the top of his lungs at the children.

The grandparent.Know I don’t know whos Mother it is (Mummies or daddies) but I’m banking on it being mummy dearests’ Mother. She’s the same.Screaming, cussing, shouting at the children whilst sitting at the kitchen table, once again with an ever present cigarette hanging from her lips.

The children ; Are obnoxious ,rude,ill-mannered,nosey and generally horrible little beggars.

The oldest is the 12ish year old.She is called Courtney .I know this because she is the one who gets yelled at the most, well her and a 3ish year old name Ryan.He is another piece of work ,he is an ASBO in the making.I think they should lock him up now and save themselves the heartache.

Anyway, today as we were unloading the car after yet another shopping trip to Tescos (we should really buy shares in that company) Courtney races towards us on her bike. She manages to stop just in front of Will, and I mean barely. He glares at her.She then blurts out “You two aren’t married are ye’s? That means them two (meaning DS1 and DS2) are bastards”

….EXCUSE ME?

I don’t know whos’ mouth hit the floor first-Mine or Wills’

DS1 pipes up first -remember he is only three and a bit- With all the shock and horror a young child can muster he blurted out ” You are rude! and you are horrible! that’s a nasty word to say! I’m telling your mummy!!”

Trying very hard not to laugh,Will looks back at Courtney and simply  says “Yeah like what he said!” and pokes his tongue out at her.

Apart from the small fact that both Will and I both wear our wedding bands,I just wonder where she got that notion from ? Her ‘parents’ ? most likely discussing err no make that gossiping within earshot of the children? It wouldn’t surprise me in the least,I mean it’s not as if they set a proper example to their children do they?

With those types of role models ,what do I expect -really? I honestly can’t blame the kids on that one.

I guess there is no real point to making this entry, other than the fact that it pissed me off somewhat. At least DS1 showed his true colours eh?

Where you ever so tired that you didn’t even have the strength to sit up straight?

–>Me.Now<–

I need to get to my bed,but I have a slightly annoying problem.I have quite a sizable chunk of cash in my paypal account, and lo and behold I have nothing to buy.

None of the stamp releases that I have been waiting have arrived in stores as yet.

I hate having extra cash to splurge and yet have nothing to do the splurgee with. It’s eating away at me!

Upgraded to wp 2.07.The dashboard is ..interesting to say the least. That was polite wasn’t it?

My spellcheck isn’t working either ,so this hasn’t been proof-read at all.Apologies for mis-spellings but I am dog-tired.On second thoughts-maybe that’s a PoxyHost issue.

pshhhhhhhhh.

Amazon haven’t charged my card yet ,but they are preorders! I have been waiting on two of the books for ages-the Kelley Armstrong one (Men of the Otherworld)  ,I have been waiting on for about what- three years?!.It contains three of the Novellas that are available on her website ,but it also includes one new story.

Pride by Rachel Vincent is another of the titles that I have been waiting on,not as long as MotOW mind you ,just around six months.

The fourth Mercy Thompson book ( Bone Crossed) by Patricia Briggs completes the order.I’ll come clean and admit that I didn’t enjoy the third book in that series ,but well, you know yourself if you are a bookie.

I feel a bit lost when I’m not up to my eyeballs in paperbacks-it just feels soo wrong to me.I always have at least one on the go.

I picked up a copy of Scarred by Sophie Andrews in Tescos the other day, I read it in about 6 hours.I don’t know why I read those ‘true life’ books, they sicken me to the core in everyway but yet everytime I see an interesting title or one that I haven’t read before-I need to buy it.

It was, well I am not going to say ‘alright’ because it wasn’t it was horrific. She did manage to overcome her past ,but the ending threw me a little.Well, an explanation to an event in her life did.

She was diagnosed with MS.And the reason that she was given for developing the disease? Her traumatic childhood.

May I say BullShit?

Possibly maybe, from the physical abuse that she recieved from her father and subsequently inflicted upon herself in the aftermath. But she implied that it was a direct cause of the mental abuse.

I have never been abused.Emotionally, sexually or otherwise.

I always say “Never again” to these types of paperbacks.I think maybe next time I should listen to myself.

Just can’t Stand it!

We have XBoxes,we have Wiis’ ,we have multiple base units and we have  TV’s.What do they all have in common? Apart from being hideously overpriced and in most cases under used? Cables and lots of them at that.

Not to mention them being nasty eye sores but they can also be quite tempting to little hands who don’t realise any better.

Just TV Stands are a UK based company who might just offer us a solution to the aforementioned issues.
They sell -TV Stands and not just any old pieces ,but stylish ,sleek designs that come with an Integrated cable management system and toughened safely glass ! I am a parent and yes, everything that Will and I purchase for our home needs to pass our rather strict ‘Baby Test’.
On those two counts alone, they get a resounding Yes from me.Once that has been passed, then and only then do the aesthetics come into play.
That again gets a Yes from us.In particular ,the Origin S3 model catches my eye,and would ,with it’s Walnut base, fit in nicely with our living room decor.

They offer free UK delivery which would not only appeal to the thrifty husband Will ,but also offer a price match guarantee on all stands.Meaning that if by chance I were to find an identical model on sale on the internet then Just TV Stand would beat that price. The special offers vary but at the moment they are offering a free HDMI cable with all purchases.

This part is just for Will incase he might drop by; Mothers Day is coming up sweet ums’ .Don’t forget
*coughs*
